Field Coordinator

1. Duties and Obligations

  1. Liaison for Trade Tech with contractors, site superintendents and the union.
  2. Plan, organize, oversee and improve instillation operations.
  3. Site check dimensions and shop drawings prior to fabrication.
  4. Promote and enforce a safe work environment.
  5. Organize and complete safety plans, lift plans and other required documentation.
  6. Conduct regular safety, equipment, and field inspections.
  7. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, Canadian Welding Bureau, and operating procedures, providing resources as required.
  8. Plan for the efficient use of manpower, schedule, and equipment.
  9. Monitor progress, quality and schedule making necessary adjustments to meet client schedules. 
  10. Assist in jobsite set up, execution and clean up as required.
  11. Represent TT in meetings, problem resolution and field condition assessment.
  12. Assist with procurement and inventory control programs.
  13. Review and ensure fulfillment of field packages and field work orders.
  14. Manage install/ service sales to fill gaps in instillation workload.
  15. Lead instillation meetings and resource allocation.
  16. Prioritize all Trade Techs projects and the success of the Trade Tech Team.
  17. Uphold Trade Tech’s values and adhere to policies in all responsibilities.
  18. Participate in business development and task forces as required. 
  19. Identify areas of opportunity reporting these to senior management.
  20. Work alongside HR and dispatch to maintain field staffing requirements.

2. Requirements

Field Coordinator must have extensive experience working in installation roles and in construction. They must have a sound understanding of metric and imperial systems as well as aluminum, stainless steel and mild steel drawings and installation. Fit and capability are evaluated on ability to lead, develop, and advance teams while simultaneously balancing the demands of project scope, schedule, and quality. Foremen are required to be certified in H&S in 5 steps, WHIMIS, and a G license.

3. Safety Field Coordinator must lead by example in all things, safety most of all. All required training must be completed and adhered to, as well as trained and enforced among your staff. Work boots and safety glasses must be worn at all times. Site-specific training must be completed, and a hard-that and high-vis worn in the field.
